Training Spotlight - Traffic Control Careers
DTC Training are a specialist provider for all levels of training in traffic control. Our courses are delivered by experienced industry experts and are SafeWork NSW Approved.

Traffic control work can be any of the following:
- Traffic controller (TCR) – direct traffic using a stop / slow bat or boom gate
- Implement traffic control plans (IMP) – implement a work zone traffic management plan in the immediate vicinity of a workplace
- Prepare a work zone traffic management plan (PWZ) – design (including vary) or inspect a work zone traffic management plan
Our wide range of courses are suitable for all skill levels. If you are just starting your career in traffic control our 3 day Traffic Controller (TCR) training is the ideal entry point for you. For those who have experience in traffic control, you can advance your work and career prospects by completing training as a Traffic Management Implementer (IMP) – 3 days, or attend our Traffic Control Work Training Combo (TCWT) – 3 days, and our Traffic Management Plan Designer (PWZ) – 3 day training.
When you attend our Traffic Control training there is no work to take home and no additional assessment day required. Everything is covered during your course attendance.
You will develop a variety of skills critical to traffic control. Depending on the training you undertake, these skills can include: communication, risk management, team work, work health & safety, reading – implementing – or creating traffic guidance schemes, operate and configure equipment for traffic control, interpret data and create work zone traffic management plans, and much more.

Smart and Skilled is NSW Government reform implemented by Training Services NSW, helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers . There is a wide range of vocational qualifications included in the “Skills List” which are eligible for Government subsidy via Smart and Skilled. Eligible learners can access subsidised training by training with approved training providers. DTC Training is an approved Smart and Skilled training provider.

This course is for people wanting to design Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Control plans (TCP).
Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck
Before you can operate a Forklift in the workplace you must have a High Risk Work (HRW) Licence.
Provide First Aid
You will learn about the role of a First Aider, how to provide first aid, conduct CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Licence to Operate Boom Type EWP > 11 Metres (HRW)
An Elevating Work Platform (EWP) uses a telescoping, hinged or articulated devise to raise personnel, equipment or materials to perform work. Requires a 'high risk work' (HRW) licence.
Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
It is a SafeWork NSW requirement to have a White Card if you want to carry out construction work in NSW.
