The NSW JobTrainer provides fee-free* training to gain skills in Australia's growing industries and in-demand skill areas.

*Are you eligible?

Firstly, you need to work or live in NSW and be an AU or NZ citizen, or a AU permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder.

Next, you may be eligible for fee-free training if you meet any one of these criteria:

  • aged 16-24
  • left school
  • job seeker
  • NSW veteran or their partner
  • wanting to upskill or reskill in digital skills (regardless of your age, employment status, or employment sector)

Digital Skills - Microsoft Office

Enrol in our new digital skills training program for people who want to improve their Microsoft Office skills.

This training has been designed with convenience, professional support, and safety in mind. Candidates participate in a blend of on-demand learning and live Instructor support. The training is suitable for basic or intermediate learners.

Every aspect of the learning is reinforced with real world demonstrations of the different features of the Office program.

Students can choose the features and concepts that are important to them, or can follow a prescribed pathway to learn a broad set of skills.

Practical Professional Development – Nationally Recognised Qualifications

Complete the included assessment tasks to gain multiple nationally recognised part qualifications which validate your acquired skills and professional development efforts!

Am I eligible?

This digital skills training is a high priority development area for JobTrainer. As long as you meet the NSW residence requirements you should be eligible for fee-free training regardless of your age or employment status.

Infrastructure & Construction - Plant Operations

Construction and Infrastructure skills demand is expected to continue as NSW builds it’s way to recovery.

There are multiple machinery ticket courses which can be included in the JobTrainer FEE-FREE training. Some examples of the machinery courses/tickets include:

  • Excavator Operations, or Roller Operations, or Backhoe Loader (single tickets)
  • Backhoe Loader + Excavator Operations (2 tickets)
  • Roller Operations + Excavator Operations (2 tickets)
  • Excavator Operations + Roller Operations (2 tickets)
  • Roller Operations + Telehandler + Front End Loader (3 tickets)
  • Excavator Operations + Roller Operations + Skid Steer Loader (3 tickets)
  • Excavator Operations + Roller Operations + Skid Steer Loader + Front End Loader (4 tickets)

Additional variations are also available.

Participants who successfully complete their training will receive their relevant machinery tickets and issued with nationally recognised units of competency.

  • aged 16-24 or
  • Existing workers in construction or
  • a job seeker (Commonwealth benefit recipients or Unemployed) or
  • a NSW Veteran or their recognised partner or spouse

Eligible participants will also need to be: living or working in NSW – an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or humanitarian visa holder.

Infrastructure & Construction - Traffic Control

Traffic Control Work Training (TCWT) combo course is SafeWork NSW approved training required for individuals wanting to control traffic using stop / slow bats and portable traffic lights, and setting up traffic control signs and devices and implementing traffic guidance systems . Our TCWT course is delivered as a combination course which includes:

  • TRAFFIC CONTROLLER
  • TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN IMPLEMENTER

The following eligibility categories exist for the Traffic Controller courses:

  • aged 16-24 or
  • Existing workers in construction or
  • a job seeker (Commonwealth benefit recipients or Unemployed) or
  • a NSW Veteran or their recognised partner or spouse
