Upgrade COMBO Traffic Control Work Training (TCWT)

Converting your expiring RMS Photo Card to the new TCWT SafeWork NSW Card does not require you to undertake any training. However, you may not have the necessary skills to carry out all aspects of traffic control work such as positioning, setting up and programming portable traffic control devices. By law, Employers cannot allow you to carry out this work and employers face significant penalties if they do.

Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer COMBO Upgrade COURSE

From 1 July 2020 it is mandatory that all workers are trained before conducting traffic control work on or adjacent to public roads.

Existing RMS Photo Cards will be recognised as meeting this requirement until expiry date when you can apply to SafeWork NSW to renew your cards. The renewal process must be done on line at: www.service.nsw.gov.au You will not obtain SafeWork cards by completing this course. If you require full SafeWork Traffic Control Tickets click HERE

This COMBO Upgrade Course is a 1 day course and is for people wanting learn the latest industry skills covering how to set up and program portable traffic control devices. As you will not be provided with any additional skills or training when converting to the new SafeWork cards via application/online.

 Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the 3 units of competency listed below.

  • RIIWHS206 Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary signs
  • RIIRIS301E Apply risk management processes
  • RIIWHS303 Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices
